Chapter Committees
Achievement Committee - to recognize members who have achieved both in the chapter and in the profession; consider a major award each year or biennium; give perfect attendance certificates; recognize members for special Chapter Awards including membership awards in 5 year increments
Archives - to locate, organize and preserve memorabilia to insure the preservation of the history of the chapter, work with membership to maintain chapter history
Ceremonials - to assist in installation of officers, initiation, celebration of Founders' Day and chapter birthday; serve on the Program Committee
Communications, Newsletter & Webpage - to publicize chapter and Society activities, publish a chapter
newsletter incorporating news from International and State publications, send chapter news to State Editor/Photographer, encourage the sending of manuscripts to International Bulletin and other journals
Constitution & ByLaws - to keep membership informed about possible constitutional change and aware of State Bylaws; keep Chapter Rules up to date
Finance & Audit - to receive requests for funds from other committees, review dues, prepare and submit budget, supervise expenditures, provide an audit; treasurer serves on committee (active only at the end of the biennium)
Legislative - to study legislation germane to purposes of the Society, keep members apprised of educational issues being acted upon at the state level, encourage members to vote and to write and/or call legislators
Member & Necrology - to accept recommendations for new members, investigate and screen these recommendations, refer to chapter information on nominees, conduct balloting, assist with orientation, conduct initiation, check attendance, keep file of biographical data, assist president with preparation of necrology
report; assist with memorial service
Music - provide music for meetings, ceremonials and fellowship
Nominations Committee - to solicit members’ suggestions for officers, ascertain that nominated persons will serve, present names to chapter, prepare ballot, send names to State and International to be considered for office (active only at the end of the biennium)
Personal Growth & Services - to provide opportunity for personal improvement and growth of members, provide opportunities for community service, plan and organize the C.I.T.Y. House project(s) with the other Plano chapters, encourage study groups on pertinent issues; chairman serves on the Program Committee
Professional Affairs, World Fellowships & Scholarships - to help raise funds for graduate scholarships, make
recommendations to potential applicants; publicize availability of scholarships; follow up on recipients to see that they are listed in the yearbook; explain program to membership; provide information on recipients and on
countries represented; extend hospitality to recipients attending local universities and publicize; provide information on local concerns of professionals and lay public; report on pertinent professional news items;
chairman serves on the Program Committee
Programs - to plan, coordinate, assess programs and program of work, include as many members
as possible in programs and activities; assist in plans for Founders' Day and Birthday celebration
Research - to assess chapter needs and suggest programs of action, publicize educational and other research pertinent to program theme, report on educational research, encourage and provide showcase for individual research projects; chairman serves on Program Committee
Yearbook- to prepare and distribute yearbook; send required yearbooks to State President, State Executive Secretary/Treasurer, State Yearbook Chairman and Area Coordinator
